Do you ever forget to turn on the recorder to record your tv episode? Or do you think that you are recording your tv episode but actually record something else? We are always having some kind of mishap with our recorder and we are not able to watch tv episodes that we thought we recorded. My husband is too cheap to get a service so we don't miss our opportunity to watch tv episodes. I have found that most television networks will put their current shows on the internet. You only need to go to their website to watch tv episodes of your favorite show. I have watched many shows like Chuck, 24, Hero's, and The Sarah Connors Chronicle at the networks website. I think it is a great idea for the networks to have their popular shows on the internet so those of us who are troubled by our recorder can watch tv episodes that we missed. It is great to be able to fill in those missing blanks and get caught up just by going to the network's website!

Almost every successful TV show that accumulates enough episodes goes into syndication. But that can be both good and bad, for one thing an earlier TV episode from a long-running series may make the current episodes look dull and formulaic by comparison with whats on TV now. Take a show like the Gilmore Girls for example. The current TV show episode of Gilmore Girls has lapsed into formula, lacking the freshness and sincerity of the first several years of the show's run. If you watch TV episodes of the old shows, they look a lot better than whats on TV right now. Syndication may make money for the cast and producers, but it can make a contemporary TV episode look comparatively bad.

With this summer season sizzling along with shows like The Closer and Rescue Me comes the return of Phych and the series premier of Burn Notice, The Dead Zone has under gone some interesting changes. As we discussed in previous posts, they started out the season by killing off one of the main characters and writing one off leaving town for another job. Also, they seemed to have changed the whole reoccurring storyline borrowed from the book this series was based off that they have been building up since the show's creation. Not only did they seem to change the direction of their storyline but the whole show seems to have an entirely different feel. The writing and flow of the show has a slightly darker feel and seems to be shifting to more character building scripts.

In the last episode the story focused on John's son JJ who now seems to be developing a pychic ability of his own. Like his father he was able to guess continuously where the Fortune Wheel would land when they were at the traveling carnival. It yet remains to be seen where these changes take us and whether they are for the better.

Stay tuned for reviews on the new series Burn Notice and the return of Phych!

Johnny had numerous visions of his death, and was able to avoid a few of these close calls, but by doing so he then saw the death of Rev. Gene Purdy to which Johnny enlisted the help of Walt to save. Walt managed to save Purdy from a fire, only to get trapped in it himself.

This leaves open a couple of questions...will Johnny and Sarah get back together with Walt out of the picture? Rescue Me's last season ended with Tommy in his new house drugged when the house is set on fire, and ends without the viewers knowing if he got out.

This season starts with Tommy in an interrogation room possibly facing insurance and arson charges for burning down the house. He wakes up from this dream and we are 9 months after this incident. His new baby has been born, everyone thinks he will be going to jail, he finds out his daughter is seeing an older guy and has been drinking, smoking pot, and having sex.

During their first fire call the whole floor gives way tilts into a fire. One by one all of the firemen lose their grips and slide down the tilted floor and into the fire! They shot this scene like it was a dream sequence. After Tommy falls into the fire, we see a close up of him waking, and realize that it wasn't a dream at all! The wall had given way, and they all slid through the fire and out through the hole in the wall and to the ground unhurt

This season on Rescue Me be expecting bigger and better fire scenes with the real actors and less cuts between shots. This should prove to be more intense and have a more real feel.

This Sunday and Monday make sure not to miss the premiers of The Dead Zone and The Closer!

Rescue Me Premiered last night with a bang! Check back tomorrow to see more on this premier! While we wait for the premier of Dead Zone on Sunday and The Closer on Monday let's continue discussing CSI.

Two reoccurring storylines took place throughout this last season of CSI. Each storyline popped up here and there between various episodes and tied the whole season together. The Miniature Killer storyline started on the season premier last year, and though out the season kept popping up in between their regular episodes. Another such storyline was the romance between the CSI's main investigator Grissom and his subordinate Sara Siddle. These two storylines ended up colliding on the season finale when the Miniature Killer wanted to personally attack CSI Grissom and ends up kidnapping Sara and placing her in the next crime scene miniature.

This technique of having reoccurring storylines is a great idea for TV shows as it keeps shows from becoming stale and predicable with the same thing happening each week. Like CSI a few other shows have used this technique before including Nip/Tuck in their second and third season. Dr. McNamara and Dr. Troy face off with a sadistic masked serial killer who pops up here and there carving the faces of his victims, which these plastic surgeons helped fix.

What do you think of the reoccurring storyline technique? We would love to hear your feedback by adding a comment below!

Starting with last year's season premier and continuing on throughout the season, the killer strikes and leaves "his" signature of a miniature model of the crime scene with such acute detail that it fascinates Grissom.

The season concluded with them narrowing down who the killer really is, but can they find "him" in time, because this time the killer strikes one of their own!

The show ends with Grissom getting yet another miniature model. This time the killer stages a wrecked car accident in the middle of the desert with the car on top of Sara Siddle, with a great camera shot of the miniature model that fades into a shot of the actual scene, where we see Sara's hand poking out of the wreckage. We were able to see her hand move just before the show ends.

Just like "House", "CSI" uses this great "cliff hanger" tactic to get viewers to come back next season!

Check back for more comments on this episode in Part 2 and comments next week about the premiers of "Rescue me" and "The Dead Zone"!
