We've discussed The Dead Zone and Rescue Me's season premier, now let's discuss the premier of TNT's The Closer. Compared to The Dead Zone and Rescue Me's explosive premiers, The Closer was less exciting, 
however just as entertaining! The season starts out with the LAPD going through some budget cuts, and each department including Priority Homicide have to cut a detective. Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson spends the episode trying to solve her latest murder and has to fight delays due to the budget cuts, and juggle her work life with her personal life with Fritz who still hasn't been able to move his belongings into her house.
The episode ends with Sgt. Gabriel solving the need to cut a detective from their department by transferring him to Counter Terrorism, by loaning him back to Priority Homicide.
